JEFFREY YIP
Associate Professor of Management | Simon Fraser University H. Smith Richardson Jr. Fellow | Center for Creative Leadership Founder @listeningworks | Co-founder @halogen PhD @Boston University | EdM @Harvard I help leaders listen for what matters and build from what they learn. My approach combines evidence-based insight with practical tools for challenging conversations and decisions.
I teach leadership in the Executive MBA and executive education programs at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. I also work with the Center for Creative Leadership on AI enabled leadership development. My research and writing have appeared in the Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, and leading management journals. My HBR article “Are You Really a Good Listener?” (with Colin Fisher) was named a Top 10 Must-Read Article on Communication. Much of my work comes together through Listen & Build: helping leaders surface what matters, work through defensiveness, and turn insights into action. I share these ideas through my Psychology Today column and the Listen & Build podcast (with Alyssa Birnbaum). |
